The City of Billings Public Works Department is seeking an industrial maintenance electrician. This position performs maintenance and repair of high voltage systems and machinery; and installation, calibration, programming, preventative maintenance and repair of a wide variety of electronic components and instruments used in the City’s water and wastewater systems.   Must have knowledge of principles, theory and practices applied to electrical and electronics maintenance and repair; and ability to apply knowledge to maintenance and repair of a variety of complex electrical and electronic systems. Standard hours of work are 7:30 am – 4:00 pm, Monday – Friday.

An associate’s degree in electrical or electronics technology or an equivalent certified training program preferred. One year of related work experience in electrical and electronic repair and maintenance required. Industrial electrical experience preferred. Ability to perform variety of demanding physical activities including working in confined spaces and heights and being medically capable of working while using an air purifying respirator.  Must have a valid State of Montana driver’s license.

Starting Salary Range: $13.63 - $17.48/hour plus excellent benefits. Salary at hiring will be dependent upon the applicant’s education and experience. Subject to pre-employment drug testing.
